Fun for the Entire Family
Eddie Cantu has funded, raised donations, established, and maintained family-friendly environments for the RGV community. The following parks are made available through the efforts of Precinct 2.
Parks
Alamo Park
Features a basketball court, soccer field, children’s playground, walking trail, and medium and large pavilions available for reservations.
San Juan Park
Features multiple playscapes, ADA playground, exercising fitness center, volleyball court, certified Texas Parks and Wildlife nature pond, baseball field, basketball courts, walking trails, small picnic tables with BBQ pits, and four medium pavilions with BBQ pits available for reservations.
Lopezville Park
Features a baseball field, walking trails, small picnic tables with BBQ pits, two basketball courts, and a children’s playground.
Charles E. Curtis Park and Palmer Pavilion
*Temporarily Closed
Features a playground, grilling areas, indoor kitchen, and pavilions available for reservations.
Aquiles Jaime Garza Park
*Closed for Construction
Features a basketball court, public pavilion with BBQ pit, small picnic tables with BBQ pits, soccer field with bleachers available for reservation, and swimming pool.
*Currently closed due to COVID-19 **Adult admission $1.00, children 12 years and under $.50.
